For a graduation short film titled, ’WARY’.
Logline: troubled by the confusing feelings he has for his friend, a young heir has to choose between his heart and the privileges of conformity.
’WARY’ is set entirely on the night of Daniel Mcmillan’s birthday party.
He is a popular young man, brought up with conservative values, and groomed to take over his family’s corporation.
As he falls in love with his friend Evan, he struggles to accept a side of himself that might defy expectations put on him by his parents, peers, and himself. Paralysed by an intense fear of rejection, he struggles to overcome this internalised homophobia and has to decide whether he risks losing his standing or his love.
Filming is planned to take place end of Feb 2023.
This is a paid opportunity with a salary of £200 per lead role and £50 for the two supporting roles. Travel expenses and, if applicable, accommodation, food and refreshments will be provided on set.
