about the project
For a final major project by third year Filmmaking students at the Northern Film School at Leeds Beckett University.
The project explores current topics such as gender, sexuality and personal identity through the point of view of two best friends, Milo and Sasha, during a night out.
Filming will take place from 15th to 18th February in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
Casting in Leeds on 19th, 20th and 21st January (exact times TBC).

MAIN FEMALE LEAD: SASHA
She is a very outgoing, emotional and very "over the top" character. She has aggressive and very loud outbursts of anger, sadness and joy. She's most of all very flirty and does so in how she moves and speaks. The kind of girl you want to be but also fear. SASHA's role as a character is to show complete liberation in oneself, whether that be positive or negative.

MAIN MALE LEAD: MILO
He is a very small character and feels invisible in some ways. He struggles with his identity and as a result is very anxious. He's generally quite reserved but you can tell he wants more than anything to break free of this. He's still finding himself and, in the performance, we should see his inner conflict at trying to be liked versus wanting to be more like his outgoing best friend, SASHA.

SUPPORTING ROLE: GIRLFRIEND

Sweet/airy character. This character's BOYFRIEND cheats on her with the main characters. She is unaware until that point that her BOYFRIEND does not love her. Main character murders her onscreen. A fight arranger will oversee the scene where she gets murdered (battery).
SUPPORTING ROLE: BOYFRIEND
m, 22-30
Confident and relaxed character. BOYFRIEND's role in the film is to open MILO up to new opportunities to understand himself and his sexuality. The actor must be comfortable in kissing other actors as the character will kiss both MILO and SASHA.
3x ROLES ANTAGONISTS: POSH DRUNK MEN
m, 22-26
Young, posh, sporty, lad type. These men antagonise the main characters SASHA and MILO in a cafe, late at night. Their behaviour is heightened by their drunk states and causes them to be verbally aggressive towards SASHA in particular. A fight arranger will oversee the scene which includes breakaway sugar glass bottles.
