Casting actors based in Switzerland, Germany, or France for various major and minor roles in the short film "Last Chance", which is intended to serve as a pilot for the series adaptation of the books "Die Tieferen".
Synopsis: The short film is set in a possible dystopian future following the books (it will serve as a flashforward for the next episodes) Humanity has lost the battle against the Lhedrith. The Dwarves of the Horns can no longer be contacted. A large part of society has been "dehopeed" (a process in which humans are stripped of hope by machines). Soldiers rule the land. The short movie revolves around a small group of rebels.
Once the short film is completed, we will reach out to multiple platforms to facilitate the full adaptation of the books.
Filming Details:
Language: Primarily in English
Shooting dates: August 10–19, 2025
Costume Fittings: August 2–9, with a possible rehearsal during this period.
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee payment at this time, as the project's funding has not yet been confirmed by potential sponsors. However, we can guarantee that the material can be used for showreels, and if the full adaptation goes forward, there will be new paid shootings.

Tom (1 day, 20–50 years old):
Endured a tough childhood with an abusive father. Now, he must be resilient in this world. He eagerly practices the exercises Robert gave him to defend himself against hopelessness.
Lana (1 day, 20–50 years old):
Once dehopeed but recovering, she still struggles with flashbacks. She suffers from a form of PTSD caused by the dehopeed process, and she struggles to find reasons to hope.
Samantha (1.5 days, 30–55 years old, speaks Basel German and English):
A mother trying to create a safe world for her daughter amidst the dystopia. She seeks to contact the rebels to join them.
Jessica (1 day, ~30 years old):
One of the frontline rebels. Strongly built but somewhat insecure.
Luisa (2 days, ~40 years old):
Her good friend Tony is dying. She is deeply worried about him, suffers greatly, and doesn’t fully understand why Tony chose to be dehopeed. A flashback will show how Tony and Luisa met. She studied philosophy.
Tony (1.5 days, ~50 years old):
Tony is dying after being dehopeed. Luisa stays by his side. He studied neuroscience and deeply regrets being dehopeed.
Zlatan (1 day, ~60 years old):
An old fisherman who has endured much in his life. Still, this world, where most have been dehopeed, is tougher than anything he has faced before.
Minor Roles:
Oppressing Soldier with dialogue (max 5 lines, min 1 line):
Regularly displays brutality towards the dehopeed. Battle-hardened, with little sense of humor except when mocking the "weak" of this world.
Bystanders:
Man 1, Man 2 (0.5 days, min 4 lines):
These two live in the same village as Luisa and Tony. They find the dehopeed Tony lying on the roadside and bring him to Luisa. Both men have not been dehopeed.
