Casting low-budget short student film.

Production title: For The People
Project length: Short Film (10-15 minutes)

Synopsis: A dystopian coming-of-age short concept film set in a fallen capitalist society. During this collapse, the poor revolt and hunt the rich. A raw and emotive exploration into themes of anarchy, humanity, poverty, and the fragility of love.

Shooting Location(s): Falmouth & Penryn Based
Shooting Window: 17th February - 8th March 2025

Compensation: Food, Transportation, Fuel etc. Acting rates are £100 per day, and we will stick to this the best we can but this may cause issues for travel/accommodation of high amounts additionally.

CHARACTER BIO
Nadia (22) is a rebellious but caring young woman who has to care for her disabled mother while they are both living in hiding from the rest of the world inside the 'rich bunker'. She secretly feels trapped here and wants to know what society is like beyond the bunker. one day she leaves and meets Blaire - but cannot share her story as it would jeopardise her and her mother's lives.

CHARACTER BIO
Blaire (24) lives with her father in the poorer districts. Her father runs the rich hunts. Blaire wishes for more freedom from him and doesn't agree with his extremism. She stays to comfort his emotional instabilities and worries what he would become if he were alone. She also has an emotional connection to the cause from losing her mother and many people in her life to the past failed social system. She meets love interest Nadia who she hasn't seen around before and becomes curious. She wants to know where she is from and why she seems "different". She has a feeling of safety around her and stability that her parents never gave her - but what would it mean if she knew Nadia was part of society that let Blaire's mother die.

CHARACTER BIO
Tanner is the father of Blaire. He leads the poorer districts to anarchy and murder through his speeches and organised “hunts”. He is a good talker and charismatic leader, but manipulative and weak at heart. He needs a lot of validation from his daughter and will never take responsibility of his actions. He is constantly victimising himself and people around him to justify their actions. He is unstable and unpredictable and claims everything he does in the name of “saving the children of the future”. He lost his wife in the past due to lack of health care from the poverty divide. From this he spiralled to a very dark place and became very self-centred and trapped in a pity bubble that he has never gotten out of.

CHARACTER BIO
Sophia is a gentle woman but afraid of the outside world. She was kept safe most her life but worked hard to get to a position of financial comfortability. She has good morals at heart but isn’t active about them and doesn’t go out of her way to help others. She is very protective of Nadia but can be restricting of her freedom. She becomes ill in the later part of her life and can’t monitor her daughter as much. She tries to comfort Nadia but knows that Nadia wants more than what she can provide her and feels guilty about needing her by her side.
